Range of services offered to our clients
We offer our services in accordance with the Act nr. 108/2006 Coll. on Social Care Services. Further, the Notice nr. 505/2006, Article 2, §17 on Sheltered Housing applies.
The Sheltered Housing facility is an accommodation service for those lacking enough self-reliance due to their health disability or disorder and as such requiring assistance by another person. In the facility, the disabled can live either in a group or on their own.
Our services cover the following :
- Providing catering or support in providing catering
- Providing accommodation
- Assistance with household functioning
- Educational, training and activating events and tasks
- Acting as a mediator when socializing with other people
- Social-therapeutic activities
- Providing support regarding protection of human rights, requirements and procurement of items of personal need
Target Group
Social Care Institute for the Physically Disabled Youth in Zbůch provides its services to people with physical, intellectual, sensorial or combined disabilities. Our clients' age ranges from 16 to 64. They have either completed the elementary school level and now they are getting ready for a job, or they are already employed.
Our clients experience trouble when pushing through their rights.
Social Services Implementation
The Sheltered Housing facility is located within the Social Care Institute for the Physically Disabled Youth in Zbůch. It has got two branches: Chotěšov and Plzeň.
The Institute pursues the mission of providing help to those who have appeared in an adverse social situation. Due to the social trouble, the people cannot receive needed support in their natural environment.
We aim at improving socialization of our clients. When providing them with the social services, we maintain the clients' dignity.
Our mission focuses on widening the of scope of our clients' personal opportunities, on preserving and maintaining the way of life they had been living so far and using natural relationships. Further, we also try help them use all kinds of public institutions and find inclusion in their local community and social environment. Making the mission come true is something to which all of our staff are committed with respect to the general public.
Our aim is to offer the clients of the Institute such a wide range of services that is able to satisfy their individual needs and requirements, emphasising the biggest autonomy and independence possible. Further, the Institute also provides high-quality and professional service that tries to give the clients as much real-life experience as possible.
We strive to support our clients in making autonomous decisions about their life, trying to include them in public activities and provide them with accommodation that is to the largest extent possible similar to home environment. Simulating home creates a suitable place for preserving privacy. We also assist them with joining an educational programme in scope of special schools comprising the secondary education level. Our clients get ready to find their way in a real life and in the labour market.
The relationship between the clients and the provider of the social services is based on an agreement, which is in accordance with the Social Services Act. The clients are, in advance, informed on the key documents of the sheltered housing facility and also on their rights. Before their cooperation, the client and the provider agree on the range and manner of the social services offered. Signature of the agreement is immediately followed by planning the course of the services including the special pedagogy, treatment and rehabilitation plans together with a schedule tailored individually for the client. These plans are always striving to help the clients reach their personal aims. The planning process is flexible.
Through the adaptation procedure, the users of the services maintain close contact with the professional staff who are at hand to resolve any possible problems immediately. With support of the team of professionals, the individual clients choose a particular key member of staff who plans their aims for future with the client. Should the user start attending the housing after previous involvement in another service provided by the facility, it is possible to keep the same key assistant.
The client is free to adapt his/her daily programme according to their ideas and habits. They can participate actively and thus decide on how they use the services. Their representatives are members of the catering commission and can also take part in other activities where decisions are made.
The sheltered housing is a facility providing social services that are in some cases permanent and continuous. The services are in accordance with needs of the clients, their legal representatives and custodians.
The way the sheltered housing facility works still allows the clients to live in their families. Provision of the social services prevents the users with lower self-reliance from being excluded from society. Every one of them is seen as an individual with specific needs.
The services are always based on individual attitude of the staff, their optimism, sensitive and caring approach towards the clients, all of that in accordance with legal standards and regulations. At work, the staff abide by the Code of Ethics of the Institute in Zbůch. Further, each staff member is qualified to look after the clients in accordance with the Act on Social Services.
If they wish so, the clients are entitled to full board, necessary nursing, rehabilitation, social, educational and therapeutic treatment. They can also participate in our cultural, social and sports events according to the schedule offered by the provider in scope of the local community. The programme includes elementary school attendance modified for persons with a disability. Secondary scholl attendance is also possible. In that case, the educational programme covers that one of an apprentice school.
The clients also receive support in case of working in a dedicated workshop run by the STYL company grouping employees with a disability. Another option is to use an agency which specializes in localizing job opportunities outside the facility.
The users can also use the Rehabilitation Centre in Sazamov located close to the city of Domažlice. This place is an ideal relaxation spot. It is fully accessible for the physically disabled.
All clients can move freely within the public premises of the facility and beyond.
Daily Centre is a social-oriented social service operating on accordance with the social services quality standards. As such, it cannot restrict free movement of its clients within or outside its premises. It cannot provide the client with personal assistance pursuant to the Act nr. 108/2006 Coll. on social services, in accordance with the Article 2, §5 of the Public Notice nr. 505/2006.

The social services are provided throughout the whole year.

The facility can provide its services to as many as 35 people.
People contra-indicated for sheltered housing
Unfortunately, due to the kind of our services, the facility cannot provide assistance to several disability groups, in particular to :
- People with a severe intellectual disability,
- Individuals behaving in breach with the life of a community of people, such as those seriously disturbing human relations, not respecting rules of an organization, threatening themselves or other clients, requiring or in need of permanent personal assistance,
- People addicted to drugs, alcohol and other psychotropic substances or those addicted and undergoing a cure,
- People suffering from behaviour disorders,
- People diagnosed with chronic infectious diseases.
